Updated: Jun 16, 2022

Nike Mercurial Vapor XI BHM

During the month of January 2018 Nike launched special Mercurial Vapor XI football boot to celebrate Black History Month. The Mercurial Vapor XI BHM will be worn by Paris Saint-Germain players, Dani Alves and Neymar Jr, who follow in the steps of Blaise Matuidi who laced up the Nike Magista for a few games back in 2016.

What is Black History Month?

Black History Month is an annual observance in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom for remembrance of important people and events in the history of Africa diaspora. Black History Month is celebrated annually in the United States and Canada in February, and the United Kingdom in October. -Wikipedia

The Boot/collection

The theme of Nike’s BHM collection is ‘Equality’ which you see wrote in the sock-liner of all the limited pairs of boots.

The Nike Mercurial Vapor XI BHM features a teijin microfiber upper with ACC (All Conditions Control) Tech and textured speed ribs which increase friction between the upper of the boot and the ball so you can perform your Elasticos and Rabonas at top speed. The boot also features 3D speed plate and Nike grip system to prevent the foot from slipping inside the boot.

Take a look at some of the older BHM collections when Nike released the Superfly IV (2015) and the Magista Obra (2016):
