And, by chance, the adidas Predator Accelerator - probably adidas' most iconic boot of all time - is also celebrating its 25th anniversary on the same year, so adidas teams up with Pro:Direct for a very unique limited edition version of the Predator Accelerator.
 
The Predator Accelerator defined a generation and caught an era with that easily identifiable trademark execution of the Three Stripe branding and that black, red, and white colour scheme. The adidas x PDS Predator Accelerator '25th Anniversary Edition' has a luxury upgrade to the colour scheme, with white replacing black.
 
With that instantly recognisable characteristic implementation of the Three Stripe branding and that black, red, and white colour scheme, the Predator Accelerator defined a generation and captured an era. That colour scheme is given a luxury makeover for the adidas x PDS Predator Accelerator '25th Anniversary Edition,' with white replaced with glittering silver and chrome. The official colorway is "Core Black/Red/Met Silver," with the silver appearing on the Three Stripes and the modern soleplate, which appears on the majority of remakes to ensure that the boot is up to the rigours of modern football - if you dare to wear something this nice on the pitch.
 
The bottom of the tongue bears the classic adidas emblem from 1998, while the upper side and heel bear the contemporary performance logo. Aside from that and the colour change, the upper is a carbon copy, with the rubber parts remaining nestled perfectly within the leather forefoot.
 
It's no surprise that it was revealed today... David Beckham celebrates his birthday on May 2nd. Beckham, along with Zinedine Zidane, was pretty much the poster boy of the Predator back in 1998, with the curtains, the pulled down tongue, and the customization - it all formed part of that legendary storey that was the Accelerator.
