Can I use any sole plate on Artficial Grass or astroturf? Most manufacturers and retailers recommend that you make sure that the boots are specifically designed for the surface you intend to use them on. This is especially important if you play on artificial grass or astroturf as the surface is much more aggressive and why boots designed for AG are recommended as they are more durable, especially around the sole plate.

How to choose the right boots and how long they will last? The life expectancy of our product will depend on the age of the product, the individual wear patterns of the user, the conditions of which the product is used under and the care of the products both during and between uses. If you purchase boots that are labelled FG, these are not suitable for pitches that are artificial / synthetic. Using this type of sole plate on an AG pitch could not only impact your chances of picking up an injury but often will mean that the product will not last as long due to the abrasive nature of the surface - we highly recommend an AG sole plate which has a more conical stud as well as higher lips around the sole plate to protect the connection with the upper. Choosing the right football boots is essential to avoid injury and to ensure you get the most bang for your buck. We recommend you check out reviews for more information on this as well as our side guide for the best fit. Alternatively you can get in touch with us at info@bootsfinder.co.uk
